Inspired

Inspired is how i feel. I know my fitness is not great and i need to lose a heap more weight but i’m really keen to get to next weeks race and get around and see where i am at.  Actually i already know-OUT THE BACK, but when i do go around the race course it will spur me on to work harder towards my goals.

A day at the races

Today i went down at watched the Footscray Cycling Club criterium at Victoria
University in Hoppers Crossing. It was quite warm and a little windy. I spent most the time talkng andwatching the race while also taking a few pictures.

Tonight i get on the bike for a couple of hours. I have already been to the pool and had a swim, so i cant wait to get out there tonight and turn the pedals!

So far so good. No cigarettes Today!!

Cool down

The weather is a bit cooler today, and last night was defiantly cooler to sleep.
Today is my rest day, i dont need to ride or swim, just concentrate on my diet. unfortunately tomorrow it will be heating up again. Also tomorrows training involves a 3 hour ride, so i think i will be getting up early.  I might also go down and watch the Footscray Cycling club Criterium in the morning. All sound like a good plan.  Will be getting some ice tonight to drop into my water bottles for tomorrows ride.  Actually 3 hours will be my longest ever ride. Im a bit apprehensive, but at the same time looking forward to it.  Should be good i hope.. defiantly going to make sure i get a good nights sleep.

Time to make a green tea :(

Wednesday ride.

Above is some of the Data from today’s ride which I collected through the Garmin edge 305 GPS.

I rode down to Werribee south. I really felt like crap today. Maybe the past few days of heat have zapped me!

Above the map you can see my heart rate relative to speed.

Lots of info. I’m not really sure how to read it, but my coach Andrew does and he’s starting to get some good ideas regarding me and my training from it. Uploading the data to him each day also helps me to keep on track, as he can see exactly what I have done, for how long, and how hard!

Still hot, but today got sweaty

Today was 35 degrees again. Still hot, so i got up early to ride this morning. I was on the road by 625am and was riding as the sun broke the horizon. Awesome morning, wonderful temperature and a great ride.  But the time i got back i had worked up a pretty good sweat! Tomorrow will be a 2 hour ride before work, so im sure that will test me.

Also went to the beach after work. I really wish i had ridden there! by the time i arrived there was a gental sea breeze blowing, but the water was not to cold – very refreshing. 
The only problem was it was full of jelly fish.  Im not a fan!

I ate really well today, tried to drink plenty of water and even managed a glass of green tea! yuk!

A hot day of Nothing

Today it was a hot day of nothing, rest day which was good! if you can call work rest:) Anyway back on the bike so to speak tomorrow morning. Cant wait. Weight loss is continuing.. though a little slow this week.. Probably due to Satuday pigouot!!

Hot night ride 1

Had 2 awesome rides today. One in the morning with my fiance’ Joanna. Tried to get out early before the wind. But the hot north wind beat us. The second ride was a training ride by myself this evening. left home just before sunset had a great ride and worked up an awesome sweat.  I thought i’d take a picture of the sun setting!

Work tomorrow, and rest day. but maybe a quick swim in the afternoon!

Training

Today i started my new training program that has been developed for me in conjunction with my bike fit on thursday. The plan is based on heart rate and cadence and takes into account that a)im still fat b)im not a teenager anymore.  Along with the new program i have acquired a Garmin Edge 305 GPS, which will transmit all my heart,speed,cadence data to the computer to be monitored by myself and by my coach.  Looks like i cant have anymore lazy sessions.. but thats good because it will keep me very focussed in achieving my goals

A big difference!

Just returned from  my first ride with my pacemaker tuned up and the bike fitting correctly. All i can say is AWESOME!!.  Heaps more power and heaps more endurance. Thanks to Chris at Bike Coach in Sunbury, and to my doctors. I really cant describe the difference from the last ride till today. Even my fiance commented how much better i look at how quickly i returned.  Today on Chris recommendation i didn’t go to far, just the normal 20km route bu i returned 13 minutes earlier than normal!!  whoo hoo!!

The next big difference should come pretty soon with today being the Final Day of any cigarettes..  Green Tea-no smoking-exercise = NEW BEAR!!

Green Tea part 2

Well today in the morning i traded my coffee for green tea.
It Still tastes like ass
I didnt feel as “awake” after.
It did help me poo!

So overall, maybe a positive. i will continue my green tea experiment over the next few days to see if it is helping.
